CBBC has commissioned indie Talent Television to make a special version of its kids reality show Best of Friends for its upcoming Africa season.
The 5 x 30-minute series was commissioned by Anne Gilchrist and will travel to South Africa to test kids' friendships through a series of tasks. Best of Friends will be executive produced by Gilchrist and Annie Miles and John Marley is series producer. It is set to air on the CBBC channel in April. |

TALENT TV TO PRODUCE AFRICAN VERSION OF KIDS' SHOW

LONDON, March 18: Tatent Television has been commissioned by CBBC to produce a special five-part African version of its kids' reality entertainment show Best of Friends.
The special is part of the BBCs upcoming Africa focus theme and will be set in Cape Town and Johannesburg. As in the U.K. version, the five half hour shows will emphasize the importance of friendship in the lives of children through a series of adventures that involve challenges and rewards. But the African version will use African children and set the action in a land of crocodiles and elephants.
"Best of Friends has become an established, returning favorite with CBBC viewers" said Annie Miles, the director of Talent Kids. "We are delighted to have been asked to produce this special series featuring African kids for the BBC."
Best of Friends is commissioned and executive-produced by Anne Gilchrist at CBBC. Miles Is executive producer for Talent Television and John Marley is series producer. The show is developed by Jonathan Wolfman from an original idea by Mark Robson. The second series of Best of Friends will transmit on the CBBC channel in April. |
