  TALENT STAFFS UP
  17 December 2004 - C21MEDIA
With new BBCl and Sky1 commissions in the bag and an eye on the international market, UK indie Talent TV is expanding its production division with a new head of production and development producer.

Previously at Endemol-owned Brighter Pictures, where he oversaw shows such as Get a New Life, My Worst Week and the Cruel reality series for Trouble, Adam Hayes joins Talent as head of production.

"This appointment reflects Talent TV's commitment to grow and expand into new areas of programming for both the UK and international markets," said the company.

Jo Spencely is also Joining Talent as development producer in the entertainment department. Reporting to head of development David Sankey, she will originate and develop new format ideas for UK and International broadcasters.

Spencely was previously at Cariton TV, where she worked on shows including Today with Des & Me! and Guinness World Records: 50 Years, 50 Records. She was previously at LWT, where she amassed credits including Prickly Heat and Extreme Magic - Extreme Danger.

As previously reported. Talent TV is adapting the Robert Chua format You Be the Judge for a live pnmetime special on BBCI, to broadcast in Spring 2005. It is also making Made in LA (3x60') for Sky1, a second series of Casino Casino for Challenge TV, and a second series of Best of Friends for CBBC.

Last week, the indie's MD Tony Humphreys told C21 of plans to take the entertainment and kids prodco into uncharted waters; serious documentaries. "The BBC is looking to put more energy into news and current affairs and we'd like to see some development in that area" he said.
