BBC commissions more 'Test The Nation' specials from Talent TV
February 2005

Talent Television, a wholly owned subsidiary of Talent Group plc, has been commissioned by the BBC to produce a further six specials of its hugely successful Test The Nation format.

The BBC has shown a major commitment to the primetime BBC One interactive event show, ordering the show up to 2006. The national test show specials will again feature an eclectic assortment of celebrities and professionals in the studio audience.

A total of 10 Test The Nation shows have broadcast on BBC One to date. Previous Test The Nations have included The Popular Music Test, General Knowledge, IQ Tests, and The Relationship Test. The programmes all allow viewers to take part on the web, by text message or 'red button', providing a truly interactive experience.

Talent TV acquired the UK and Japanese rights for Test The Nation from Dutch creator Eyeworks. At the end of last year, Talent Television secured a second commission of 'Test The Nation - the National IQ Test' with Japanese broadcaster TV Asahi. This deal followed Talent's unprecedented agreement in 2003 which saw the producer cracking the Japanese market brokering a deal for the country's first-ever interactive event show.

Tony Humphreys, Managing Director of Talent Television, says - “We are delighted that the BBC has shown such confidence in Test The Nation supporting the show into 2006. Test The Nation is a major benchmark in live interactive 'event TV' and we are confident of its continued success.”.
