DISNEY CHANNEL UK IS GAME ON WITH TALENT TV            31st July 2003
Disney Channel announced today that it has commissioned Talent Television to develop a major new family game series, based on an original idea from the indie entertainment producer.

The series will be the first of its kind for Disney Channel and has come about from the new commissioning process introduced last year. Debuting on the channel's winter schedule it will be a 13 x 30 minute series.

The game show concept is to create a fantasy adventure where contestants are shrunk and explore the workings of the human body. The objective is to create a series that is fun and involving for the audience appealing to the core Studio Disney age group of 8-12 year olds.

James Neal, Director of Programming for Disney Channel UK, said: "We chose Talent TV as our partners in this because they demonstrated a strong combination of great creativity and in-depth production experience. This commission demonstrates our commitment to develop stand-out programming that delivers the high standards of quality family entertainment our audiences expect from us."

John Kaye Cooper, Deputy Chairman and Creative Director of Talent TV, said: "We are delighted to be working with Disney on this project. It will be a breakthrough show in every respect - in content, in visual style and for the channel itself."

The development team at Talent will be headed up by Producer Mark Robson and executive produced by John Kaye Cooper. Tony Humphreys, MD of Talent, added, "We are pleased to have been recognised by Disney as a company which originates and develops high quality entertainment programmes. This partnership with Disney marks the first fruits of our efforts to work with major international media players which we intend to develop."

The series will start filming in the autumn.
