TALENT TELEVISION EXPANDS INTO CHILDREN'S 7th January 2003 |
|
Talent Television, part of the newly created Talent Group plc, is expanding into the arena of children's programming with the hiring this week of Annie Miles.
Miles, previously with Fox Kids UK and Granada Media, joins the Company following the financial restructuring that took place just before Christmas which saw independent producer Talent Television take on PLC status with a listing on the UK AIM market. She will head up the newly created division, Talent Kids, signifying the first move in the Company's expansion plan.
Tony Humphreys, Managing Director of Talent Group pic, said today 'We are very pleased to have Annie working with us in our new venture into children's programming. The financial restructuring of the Company has enabled us to put into place immediately the first part of our business development strategy - developing children's media properties. Annie's experience and reputation in this sector is unrivalled and we are very pleased to have her leading this new area for us'.
Annie Miles said 'I am delighted to be joining Talent Television at this time. Their growth plan over the next few years is very exciting and I am looking forward to allying Talent's strengths in entertainment and interactive programming to my experience and understanding of kids media'.
Meanwhile, Talent's success in ground-breaking entertainment programming continues with The National 2002 Test, the second of the Test the Nation interactive live events for prime-time BBC which was transmitted the Monday before Christmas. John Kaye Cooper, Deputy Chairman and Creative Director of Talent Group, said 'The Test the Nation series is developing into a real franchise for BBC1. Audiences are now familiar with the various methods of taking part in the shows and are participating in growing numbers and enthusiasm'.
