CBBC COMMISSIONS TALENT TV                                     8th January 2004
  TO PRODUCE 'BEST OF FRIENDS'
London, 8 January 2004 - CBBC has commissioned Talent TV to produce a new 15 x 30 minute factual and entertainment show for children.

Best Of Friends features teams of five friends aged between 10 and 12 years old. The team face a series of tasks and treats designed to test their humour, loyalties and friendship. During a two day mystery tour the friends could either find themselves solving mathematical problems or being pampered at a beauty salon.

Tony Humphreys, Managing Director of Talent Television said "We are extremely pleased to announce this new CBBC commission. The series brings together the high appeal that reality game shows have for children but, at the same time, gets them to think about the importance of friendship in their own lives. For this reason, we believe that it is a breakthrough format."

Best Of Friends is based on an original idea by Mark Robson, developed by Jonathan Wolfman, and produced by John Marley. The series was commissioned by Anne Gilchrist, CBBC Head of Entertainment and it will start on The CBBC Channel in Spring 2004.
